FAQs

What is KCRiverFest?

Kansas City’s premier Independence Day event is an opportunity for our community to come together for a fun, family celebration on our nation’s birthday. Located at Kansas City’s Riverfront at Berkley Park, KCRiverFest has become "Kansas City’s Riverfront Tradition;" known as the only place in downtown Kansas City to celebrate the Fourth of July with fireworks and family entertainment.

Who started KCRiverFest?

KCRiverFest is organized by Friends of the River (FOR-KC). Incorporated in November 2002, FOR-KC is a not-for-profit organization created to promote awareness and public use of the Riverfront throughout the metropolitan area. The organization addresses a wide variety of interests including history and education; conservation; recreation and entertainment. FOR-KC works to create a more vibrant Riverfront today and a more vibrant region in the future.
